experience: rue st honore, etc

yesterday ben, nina, esther and i decided to go wandering. i guess, in retrospect, we didn't do that much. but perhaps that's why it was so great. we just wandered the city aimlessly. AND IT WAS AMAZING.

things we did while not doing anything:

--> stopped at every chocolate shop we walked by! the chocolate shops here are TO DIE FOR. the desserts are so beautiful and, obviously, just as delicious.

--> saw this incredible group of french marines playing the bagpipes, in honor of d-day... an AMAZING thing to stumble upon!

--> saw firsthand that sometimes the french use sidewalks for bathrooms. will say no more.

--> saw a bunch of CRAAAAAAZY rugby fans celebrating the victory of their team outside of a sports bar. i've always wanted to run into a crowd of crazy european sports fans. =]

--> checked out some cute little shops along the sienne river.

--> saw a bride and groom walking across a beautiful bridge against a beautifully foggy cityscape. got oddly excited about it.

--> walked down rue st. honore, a beautiful street with RIDICULOUS shopping.

--> gazed in at all of the high fashion. tried to fathom spending over 1,000 euro for an article of clothing. but, OH MAN, i love me some high fashion.

--> learned that, on average, the french spend about three times more money on clothing than americans do. which is sort of obvious by walking down the streets. on the whole, PARISIANS DRESS IMPECCABLY. though there is very little room for individualized style. which is kinda lame sauce. regardless, the people here are beautiful.

--> wish i was fluent in french. it's beautiful too.
